About Charla Haas, Attorney at Law and 
Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC

The founding attorney of Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC, Charla Steinmetz Haas, has been practicing law since 1983 and immigration law exclusively since 1993. She earned her B.A. degree magna cum laude with Honors in History from Vanderbilt University in 1980. She obtained her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1983, graduating in the top quarter of the class. Ms. Haas has received the highest rating of AV by the lawyer-rating firm Martindale-Hubbell and is listed on their Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
She speaks and writes frequently on immigration issues before a wide variety of audiences. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.  

Ms. Haas was a former founder, along with Marilyn Devine, of Haas and Devine, PLC from 1997 to 2011. Ms. Devine a graduate of Duke University School of Law practiced immigration law exclusively from 1986 to 2011. Unfortunately, Ms. Devine passed away in November 2011. Ms. Haas and Ms. Devine were also former principals of the internationally known law firm, Siskind, Susser, Haas, and Devine. They amicably split from Siskind Susser on July 1, 2003. 

By devoting the firm’s resources exclusively to immigration law, Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC (HILF) is able to provide more effective counsel and quality service to business and individual clients. Because U.S. immigration laws are federal in nature, Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC is able to provide flat-fee reasonably-priced legal services to clients located anywhere in the United States. The firm is physically located in Nashville, Tennessee; however, HILF represents clients all over the United States as well as countries all over the world. Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC represents clients across the entire spectrum of immigration and nationality law from non-immigrant visas, to family and business based permanent residence to citizenship, asylum and deportation. 

Haas Immigration Law Firm, PLC associates with business, family law and criminal defense attorneys to provide advice for their immigrant clients. The firm mission is to help noncitizen clients and their families to achieve the American Dream by serving the immigration needs of clients in the most effective, professional, timely and courteous manner possible. Staff


Rosa Speranza is the Senior Paralegal and Office Administrator for Haas Immigration Law Firm PLC. She has been with the firm (including the predecessor firm Haas and Devine PLC) since 1997. She received her associate degree from Nashville State Technical Institute in the field of Legal Office Administration. Rosa, a naturalized US Citizen, was born in Italy, raised in Brooklyn, New York and has lived in Tennessee since 1991. She enjoys cooking, interior design and spending time with her family.
